Kathleen brings 35 years of collaboration and mediation experience leading local and international initiatives. As trusted advisor she facilitates complex environmental, economic and social issues. Kathleen has worked with Federal and Provincial Ministries, industry, First Nations, local government, business and community organizations. Her work includes large infrastructure, regenerative design and environmental management projects. Known for her calm and capable presence, she is able to establish trust working at the grassroots or with senior government and industry decision-makers.Her genuine respect for diversity and sense of humor make her an active team player and strong leader. Doreen's experience includes collaboration of program management; land use, environmental, transportation, climate change and resource management sustainability and communications strategies, stakeholder facilitation, and team and organizational capacity building. She collaboration sustainable land use planning, resource management, environmental analysis, alternative transportation systems, greenhouse gas reduction, water management issues, stream and river restoration and stabilization, and alternative energy solutions. Doreen received her graduate degree from Pepperdine School of Law in dispute resolution. She is a member of the Mediators Beyond Borders (MBB) Climate Change Team working with the United Nations on an International Climate Change Agreement and participated in the December 2015 United Nations COP21 meeting located in Paris, France. Doreen is certified as a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Ms. Liberto-Blanck served on the San Luis Obispo County Planning Commission from 1999 to July 2005, and was Chairperson twice. She lectured undergraduate and graduate students at Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo in the City and Regional Planning Department. She has made a number of presentations at the League of California Cities’ Annual Conference, Planners’ Institute and American Planning Association conferences.
